After Science Network: Research meets industry – a potential pathway to impact
Are you a PhD student or postdoc interested in exploring new opportunities beyond academia? Join After Science Network and learn how your research can lead to real-world impact through innovation and entrepreneurship.
LU Innovation, together with Lund's Doctoral Student Union and the Doctoral Guild at the faculty of Engineering, invites you to After Science Network on October 15, where we explore industry collaboration as one possible pathway from research to innovation, real-world solutions and future opportunities.
This time, the session will be held at BioTech Heights in Lund, a collaborative hub for research and innovation, making it a fitting setting for a session on how industry collaboration can support new ideas, partnerships and innovation.
Be part of this university-wide network and help shape it from the very beginning!
If you are not able to join this session but still would like to be a part of the network and upcoming meetups, please email Peter.franck@innovation.lu.se and register.
This session: Research meets industry — a potential pathway to impact
Take part in a talk and Q&A with Emma Norell, Project Manager at the Cooperation Office at Lund University and Director at BioTech Heights, who will share insights into how industry collaborations are created, what different forms they can take, and how they can help research grow into innovative projects, solutions, and real-world impact.
• Join an interactive workshop where you’ll work with fictional cases and practise how to talk about research projects in a way that creates interest among industry and other external partners.
• Get practical perspectives, inspiration, and time to connect with other PhD students and postdocs across the university.
During this session, you’ll:
• Learn more about what researchers can gain from industry collaborations
• Explore different types of collaborations between academia and external partners
• Understand how industry collaborations can be initiated and developed
• Practise communicating research in a way that creates interest beyond academia
• Reflect on how collaboration can become a pathway to innovation, impact, or future opportunities
• Connect with other early career researchers across Lund University
As always, no previous experience in innovation or entrepreneurship is needed.
Food will be provided.

About After Science Network
The After Science Network is hosted by LU Innovation, the innovation office of Lund University, together with Lund’s Doctoral Student Union and the Doctoral Guild at the Faculty of Engineering.
The network is open to early career researchers at Lund University who are interested in innovation and entrepreneurship — no prior experience is needed.
This is the fourth meetup in a series of informal, recurring meetups (around two per semester, attendance at the other sessions is not required in order to participate in this session), where you’ll learn from entrepreneurs and experts, gain practical tools, and grow your network across the university.
